The Department of Internal Medicine – Cardiology, Diabetology and Conservative Intensive Medicine has 80 beds, including 12 intensive beds, and provides over 3,500 patients with a wide range of internalists each year. It offers comprehensive invasive and non-invasive diagnostics, a 24-hour readiness to supply acute coronary syndrome and is certified as a diabetes center (DDG). In addition, the clinic, together with other departments, represents the medical occupation of the emergency medical service vehicle of the Berlin fire department.

Activities in the Clinic for Cardiology, Diabetology and Conservative Intensive Medicine

Conservative intensive care unit and Cardiac Arrest Center

Supervision and intensive medical training of doctors in continuing training

Participation in the background service of the intensive care unit as well as Konsil and expert activities

Use in non-invasive and possibly invasive cardiology (heart catheter laboratory, echocardiography and functional diagnostics of the clinic)

Recognition as a specialist for internal medicine or Internal medicine and cardiology as well as additional name intensive medicine

Doctorate as a doctor (Dr. med.) and Approbation

Knowledge of transthoracal and transesophageal echocardiography, including 3D echocardiography

Current ACLS certificate, ideally certification as ACLS provider

Experiences in intensive medical interventions and measures (e.g. dilatation strophobia, respiratory safety, haemodynamic monitoring or Management, Advanced Cardiac Life Support

Security in handling computer-assisted systems and programs

Legally necessary evidence of immunization against measles
