We offer an unlimited position in full time for a physicist / Applied Mathematics (m/w/d) focusing on development of electron-optical systems (Charged-Particle Optics).

We offer a permanent position for a Physicist or Applied Mathematician (m/f/d) (M.Sc or Ph.D. in physics, mathematics applied or equivalent background) with main focus on optics design for charged-particle optics instrumentation.

Job Description: In our group of physicists and engineers you will work on the development of advanced electron-optical instrumentation. This requires extensive theoretical simulations, understanding of the physical physical requirements and the ability to judge technological constraints. You will use our balancing software tools for ray tracing based on perturbation-theoretical methods, numerical codes to calculate electromagnetic fields, and image analysis for aberration measurement. You will therefore contribute to the improvement of our simulation and analysis tools. You will help to develop novel theoretical solutions into real instrumentation and you will support the evaluation and interpretation of test results from the prototypes.

Your profile: The position requires a profound education in applied mathematics and physics. Prior experience in optics design and field calculation based on the boundary element method would be an advantage. A broad technical and physical background, good communication skills and a responsible and organized way of working are necessary. We expect excellent skills in scientific computing including programming in C/C++ and scripting languages. Welich recently graduated candidates who are motivated to become experts in our domain of computational sciences. A good command of the English language and the willingness to learn German are necessary.

An unlimited full-time position in the technologically exciting and innovative field of modern particle optics, An attractive salary based on professional experience and qualification, Flexible working time with 38 hours/week and 30 days of annual leave, cooperation in a privately managed, family-friendly company with flat hierarchies and a valuable and cooperative working environment, The participation of all employees in the success of the company, Takeover of childcare costs until school entry.

We offer an attractive job in the stimulating scientific environment of modern electron optics instrumentation with motivated and friendly colleagues and good social and financial conditions. .
