Supplier: Chair of algebra and number theory The chair for algebra and number theory at RWTH Aachen University deals with algebraic structures, their representations, their computational and algorithmic aspects and their applications, e.g. within mathematics, natural sciences and engineering. Implementation of mathematical research work in the project 'discovering partial differential equations taking into account differential consequences'. Development of software packages to support the research project. Publication of research results and presentations at conferences. If necessary, guidance from student assistants. This project is a cooperation between the Chair of Algebra and Number Theory of RWTH Aachen University and the Department of Computer Science and Automation of the Technical University of Ostwestfalen-Lippe, Lemgo. Within the framework of the research project, the employment relationship is concluded with RWTH Aachen University and half with the Technical University of Ostwestfalen-Lippe and the doctorate is supervised at both locations. It is expected that you will process the project in certain periods of time in Aachen and Lemgo, where these periods are still flexible.

A prerequisite for the recruitment is a completed university degree (master or comparable) in mathematics or a similar field. Ideally, you have a solid basic knowledge in one of the areas of algorithmic algebra, differential equations, machine learning as well as experience in the use of computer algebra systems and programming knowledge. You are characterized by self-employment, self-initiative, structured working methods and have very good communication and team skills.

The employment is in the employment relationship. The place shall be occupied at the earliest possible date and shall be terminated until 31 December 2028. Further employment for a total of at least 3 years under the promotion is envisaged. The temporary employment is carried out within the framework of the time-limits of the science-time contract law. It is a part-time job with three quarters of regular weekly working time. There is a doctoral opportunity. The grouping depends on the TV-L. The place is rated with EG 13 TV-L.
