The operating division is the heart of Amazon. This essential part of our company ensures that we send orders efficiently so that our customers receive their articles in time. As a Transportation Area Manager, you’ll ensure that all processes at your location work as smoothly as possible so that we can meet customer demand. You run a team that ensures the safety, efficiency and first-class quality of our operations. In addition, you will guide a number of projects across our entire network to promote productivity. Key job responsibilitiesYour tasks and responsibility: You will take over the leadership of one of the most important teams in the logistics center: Transportation/Yard. Together with your colleagues, you will ensure a smooth running of workflows and meet or exceed customer expectations. With the department you run, we trust you a team of approximately 80 to 120 employees. You are responsible for the training and integration of employees while at the same time driving motivation and development. Because of a healthy judgment, you will ensure that progress is made and KPI targets are achieved. At the same time, you are thinking of motivation, commitment and willingness to work:

• Ensure the safety of your workplace team and compliance with health and safety standards
• Head of a cross-functional team whose task is to solve operational problems.
• Preserving the high level of process quality of Amazon.
• Oversight of projects to streamline processes, optimize productivity and improve service quality for customers in your area of responsibility
• Analysis of the shifts according to company specifications and implementation of measures to improve our operational excellence
• Collaboration with colleagues at the management level to standardize layer processesA day in the lifeDu is working in shift operation at one of our sites and ensures that the processes there are as productive as possible. Priority Your activity is the management and promotion of a safety culture and the maintenance of the quality and performance standards of the work layers. You also supervise the process improvements in your area and organize the implementation. A typical working day can look quite different and includes both routine team management and daily work tasks as well as process improvement and extensive operational tasks for the eventual case. You also act as a role model and mentor for new managers:inside.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A degree (or working towards a degree), or equivalent

• Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English and the local language

• Relevant experience in performing data analysis PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including your peers and leadership

• Experience in a logistical working environment

• Experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment
