The Künstlersozialkasse (KSK) allows approx. 190,000 self-employed cultural workers throughout the federal territory have access to statutory health, nursing and pension insurance and thus social insurance. The Artists' Social Fund ensures the financing of the Artists' Social Insurance through the collection of the Artists' Social Levy for taxable evaluators. The law on the social security of independent artists and publicists as well as the collection of an artist social tax (Künstlersozialversicherungsgesetz – KSVG) forms the basis of the tasks and activities of the KSK in Wilhelmshaven.
