Your opportunity As Teamlead Commercial Project Management, you will lead a team of Commercial Project Managers and take responsibility for the commercial, confidential and financial management of complex international projects, with a particular focus on large-scale projects. In this role, you will combine people leadership with strong commercial project expertise. You will guide your team through complex project situation, ensure sound commercial decision-making and transparency regarding financial performance, risks and opportunities. Working close with Project Management and other key functions, so you will support critical losses and contribute to the continuous development of Commercial Project Management.

Your role Lead and develop a team of Commercial Project Managers, including disciplinary and functional leadership, coaching, training and performance management. Ensure comprehensive commercial management of assigned projects throughout the relevant project lifecycle, covering both the offering and execution phases. Ensure consistent budget monitoring, financial performance, risk and opportunity management as well as compliance across the assigned projects. Act as an escalation and decision-making point for complex commercial project matters and provide guidance to Commercial Project Managers in critical situation. Support the team in developing claims strategies and handling change orders, contract variations and commercial violations. Ensure effective management of project margins, cash flow and forecasts and continuous improvement forecast quality and reliability. Collaborate closely with Project Management, Engineering, Legal, Tax, Finance and Insurance to ensure an integrated approach to commercial project execution. Ensure aligned and professional commercial communication with customers and other external stakeholders. Drive the consistent application and continuous improvement of commercial standards, processes, tools and templates. Provide consistency and decision-relevant reporting on the commercial and financial performance of projects within the area of responsibility. Lead and support the transformation of commercial project management processes towards a more common, scalable and efficient operating model, including the effective integration of Best Cost Country resources. Champion digitalization and automation initiatives within the commercial function by leveraging AI-driven solutions, robotic process automation (RPA) or other advanced digital tools to improve productivity, transparency and decision-making.

Your profile Successfully completed degree in business administration, industrial engineering or a comparable qualification. Several years of relevant professional experience in Commercial Project Management, ideally within a technology-driven industrial, plant engineering, energy, infrastructure or EPC environment. Proven experience in the commercial management of complex international projects with significant project volumes. Strong expertise in project financials, cash flow management, forecasting, margin management as well as risk and opportunity management. In-depth knowledge of contract and claim management, including experience in changing orders, contract variations and commercial agreements with customers and partners. Strong affinity for digital technologies, process automation and data-driven decision making, with a particular interest in applying Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and other digital solutions to transform commercial processes. Proven ability to drive change, challenge traditional ways of working and successfully implemented processes across international and cross-functional organizations. Leadership experience and a proven ability to develop employees and/or project teams, ideally within an international matrix organization. Strong decision-making skills and the ability to take ownership and maintain commercial focus in complex and dynamic project situation. Excellent negotiation skills, assertiveness and confidence in interactions with customers, management and other key stakeholders. Strong entrepreneurial mindset combined with sound financial and perception. Experience in working with international stakeholders and strong intercultural communication skills. Business-fluent English; additional languages are at advantage.
