As Senior Cloud Operations Engineer (m/w/d), you are building and responsible for the operation of important infrastructure services in our public cloud environment. In this way, you support the expansion of our range of services as a central service provider for our customers throughout the country. Your area: IT factory In the newly established cloud infrastructure operating team at IT.NRW, we design, implement and manage a modern cloud environment including support services for secure operation. Thus, we enable our internal customers to provide their own applications and services based on virtual Linux and Windows servers.

Your main activity: You manage critical server services (including DNS, LDAP, proxy) as well as configuration (config) and patch management in cloud environments. You design infrastructure services based on varying requirements, such as automated auditing or observability. You identify optimization potentials in automation and actively promote their technological implementation. You implement security requirements in accordance with BSI requirements to secure data and applications in the cloud.

You bring with them: Graduate degree in Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics or in a degree course with IT reference As an alternative to studies: Completion as an operating professional or many years of relevant professional experience in IT Expertise in the use of public clouds (e.g. IONOS, AWS, Azure, GCP) Know-how in the use of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g. Git, Ansible, Terraform) experience in at least one of the following infrastructure services: Active Directory & DNS Remote Desktop Gateways Windows Server Configuration and Patch Management Linux Server Configuration and Patch Management Competence in orchestrating server deployments (provisioning) At least three years of practical experience in the context of the above-mentioned areas Secure German (in Word and Writing) Also desirable are: Practical experience in managing infrastructure resources using IBM Terraform Know-how in the development and use of CI/CD pipelines, ideally with GitLab CI/CD/Runner Experience in using (REST) APIs Your personality: Team spirit, open to dealing with changes Structured and analytical methods, good in identifying relationships Readiness to learn
