We are investigating how cancer arises, finding cancer risk factors and looking for new strategies to prevent people from suffering from cancer. We are developing new methods that allow tumours to be more precise and cancer patients to be treated more effectively. For the Department of Epigenomics we are looking for a:n Biology Laboratory:in / MTA / BTA (m/w/d). Reference number: 2025-0172 The Department of Epigenomics researches how changes in epigenetic mechanisms, such as DNA methylation and chromate structure, promote tumor development and influence cancer therapies. Particular interest is given to the research of non-genetic mechanisms of therapy resistance, which are only inadequately understood at the molecular level and are to be investigated in various projects.

Independent acceptance, control and preparation of incoming patient samples Independent working up, extraction and quantitative and qualitative characterization of nucleic acids and proteins from human samples Single cell preparation from human blood and tissue flow cytometry Handling of cell lines and planting of human primary crops Intrusion techniques such as PCR, Western Blot, Chromatin Immunprecipitation Sample preparation for sequencing (Illumina and Nanopore Long Read Sequencing) Professional, computer-assisted documentation of the processes including sample storage Participation in general laboratory tasks, laboratory organization and laboratory safety

Graduated vocational training as BTA/MTA (m/w/d) or comparable Very good knowledge of the above techniques Experience in dealing with primary tumor material Understanding medical and further tumour biological relationships Very good organizational talent and communication strength A high level of motivation, reliability and self-responsibility Good knowledge of MS Office applications Good knowledge of German and English in word and writing
