The German Center for Lung Research (DZL) combines 28 university and non-university research institutions at 5 locations. Development of ultrafast sequences (UTE) for morphological lung imaging Innovations in functional perfusion/valve imaging Optimization of the contrast media-free representation of lung vessels (e.g. expertise in ASL, TOF techniques) and of methods for flow measurement in lung vessels Improvement of quantitative image analysis (e.g. creation of ventilation and perfusion cards, V/Q distribution analyses, vascular segmentation, parameter mapping) Development and application of high-resolution imaging techniques for dynamic representation of breathing mechanism, diaphragm movement and regional ventilation by means of real-time MRT Close interdisciplinary cooperation with the clinical and scientific MRT department and research partners within and outside the university Active support for ongoing research projects including further development, optimization and initiation of new modern MRT techniques
