Type of employment: Limited Working time: Full time Place of work: Stuttgart As part of your internship, you analyze our current purchasing portfolio with a focus on mechanical components and derive potentials for a strategic expansion of the supplier network in China. You identify potential suppliers in China in supplier management, evaluate them on the basis of technical skills, capacities, certifications and economic indicators, and participate in their initiation and communication with – if necessary in cooperation with local sourcing partners or service providers. Together with our Europe-wide shopping team, you develop a cross-site shopping strategy for the Chinese market and accompany their implementation. Systematically you compare the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) between Asian and European shopping options taking into account logistics, quality, delivery time, customs and risks. With the help of sound market and competitive analyses, including using digital tools or AI-based search approaches, you gain insights into relevant developments. In operational support, you take on tasks relating to enquiries, comparisons of offers and supplier reviews and work on the further development of standardized purchasing processes for increasing efficiency in the international context. The creation of presentations and decision templates for management is also part of your task, including close coordination with the team management. In the area of digitalization and data analysis, you are interested in data-driven topics, for example when building a supplier dashboard (e.g. in Power BI) as well as in the automation of analyses and reports (e.g. with Python, Excel VBA or Power Automate).

Education: studies in the field of economic engineering, mechanical engineering, business management or comparable to good academic achievements Experience and know-how: safe handling of MS Office; SAP knowledge; Practice in Power BI and affinity for AI tools Personality and mode of operation: you convince with a strong communication strength and a high degree of intercultural competence Working day: Your presence on site is required Enthusiasm: Interest in international shopping and technical products Languages: German, English and Chinese
