Workshop Manager TUMorrow Factory (m/f/d)

The Technical University of Munich is one of the leading universities in Europe and combines scientific excellence with the need to bring innovation to society. The TUMorrow Factory is a new location for student clubs working on technologically demanding and socially relevant solutions – from mobility and aerospace to AI and robotics. As a workshop manager (m/w/d), you will design this site from the outset and will be responsible for the safe and reliable operation of the workshops together with the managing director. Tasks – what you expect from us: Workshop & Infrastructure

• Operational responsibility for TUMorrow Factory's ongoing workshop operations with a view to functionality, safety and a reliable access system.
• equipment, organization, support and further development of the mechanical workshop areas, in particular the wood, metal and general prototyping areas.
• Technical coordination of the use of specialized areas in close coordination with experts, e.g. high-voltage and mold construction.

Safety of work

• Participation in the development, implementation and enforcement of regulations and processes on occupational safety, material use and machine use.
• organisation, implementation or coordination as well as documentation of instruction, training and certification for the use of workshops, machines and tools.

Support & Support

• Practical guidance and support for students in the production, processing and development of prototypes.

Requirements – what we expect from you:

• completed university studies on Bachelor level in a relevant technical field; Alternatively, an equivalent technical qualification, for example as a master, Bachelor Professional or a state-tested technician, each with several years of relevant professional experience.
• Multiannual practical experience in operation, organisation or management of technical workshops or comparable manufacturing and prototyping environments.
• Very good practical knowledge in mechanical processing, in particular in several of the areas wood, metal, assembly and machine applications.
• Detectional knowledge of occupational safety, ideally in workshop, laboratory or university environments.
• Experience in the guidance, training or support of user groups, ideally from students, trainees or project teams.
• High self-initiative, organisational strength, team capacity and a structured and reliable way of working.
• Very good knowledge of German in word and writing (at least C1), especially for instruction and documentation. Good English skills are desirable as the TUMorrow Factory operates in an international university environment.
