HITS.nrw is a newly established, central IT service provider for public universities in North Rhine-Westphalia. Our mission: Together with the universities of applied sciences, shape the university IT of the future. For this we develop scalable services from the areas of cloud, cyber security, software and IT security. We provide modern, safe and efficient solutions – so that universities can concentrate entirely on teaching, art and science, and sensitive data is protected as best possible. In this role, you shape cybersecurity and implement it specifically: You work on the security architecture of our cloud services, translate requirements into technical solutions and ensure that security works in everyday life.

Senior Cybersecurity Engineer / Security Architect (m/w/d) Location: Hybrid (Düsseldorf, NRW, Germany) | Contract: unlimited | Working time: full time

Responsibility for developing and implementing security architectures for modern cloud and application services Translation of security requirements into concrete technical solutions and implementable measures Active participation in the analysis and treatment of safety incidents and escalation support Implementation and further development of safety requirements based on standards such as ISO 27001 and BSI IT basic protection Co-responsibility for the development and development of Identity & Access Management Close cooperation with internal teams and external security partners to continuously improve security architecture

Complete studies in the IT field (e.g. computer science, business informatics) or IT training with a focus on security or a comparable qualification Cybersecurity experience and implementing technical security measures Experience in IT or security projects and a good understanding of practical implementation requirements Funded understanding of IT security concepts (e.g. network, cloud, IAM) Knowledge and practical touch points with common standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001 and BSI IT basic protection Structured, analytical manner and interest in developing security solutions in practice Very good German knowledge and good English skills
