The Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Optics and Fine Engineering IOF in Jena operates application-oriented research in optical system technology on the direct behalf of the industry and within the framework of publicly funded joint projects. Fraunhofer IOF's range of services includes system solutions, starting with new design concepts, the development of technologies, production and measurement methods, and the construction of prototypes and pilot series for applications in the wavelength range from millimeters to nanometers.

Our IT department acts as an in-house service provider for our employees, researchers and technology experts and ensures smoothly functioning information technology through their work. To strengthen our team, we are looking for you as a computer scientist for system and network administration. What you do with us

• Planning, installation and administration of the IT infrastructure and the provision of hardware and software

• Support and participation in information security

• Configuration of Windows and Linux servers in the local network

• Selection, implementation and configuration of new IT solutions

• Network configuration and administration

• IT support for hardware and software (installation and configuration of applications under MS Windows, automated software distribution)

• Implementation of key information security requirements

• Creation of documentation (system documentation, online help / process descriptions)

• Completed degree (Master/ Diploma) of Computer Science, Information Technology and a comparable discipline

• Alternative: comparable skills acquired in practice and experience in system and network administration

• Good knowledge in the field of network technologies and in the administration of common network components

• Ideally knowledge of virtualization technologies and script languages

• German and good English skills

• A high level of self-employment as well as a pronounced team-ability and service orientation

The weekly working time is 39 hours. The body can also be occupied in parttime. Employment, remuneration and social benefits are based on the public service collective agreement (TVöD).
