Lead Cloud DevSecOps Engineer - Software Development and Kubernetes (m/w/d)

from now on and in full time at one of our BWI locations.

As a primary digitization partner of the Bundeswehr, we provide stable, safe and efficient IT services in Germany and abroad, from basic operations to the field close to the application and thus contribute to the continuous increase in the leadership and operational capacity of the Bundeswehr. With more than 8,000 colleagues, we operate and modernise one of the largest and most complex IT infrastructures in Germany. We are looking for responsible IT specialists who are convinced that the Bundeswehr-IT will further develop in challenging digitalization projects and thus contribute to Germany's security.

The “POD 2 Cloud & Platform” department is responsible for the design, development and operation of the cloud platform for our customers. With the help of agile development methods and interdisciplinary DevOps teams, we design the private cloud platform and contribute to the digital sustainability of our country.

If you like to passionately use methods of software development in the construction and operation of IT infrastructure, where the cloud is at home and at the same time understands the foundation of classic IT systems, you are right with us.

Your profile:

Completed IT-related study or comparable qualification

At least six years of professional experience in software engineering and the design of IT solutions in cloud environments

Wide knowledge of programming with golang, preferably in the context of Kubernetes based operators

Very good experience in the application of cloud native tool sets for code versioning, secret management, as well as data security and compliance

Very good knowledge of Kubernetes - preferably on premise

Know-how about Linux systems as well as the construction, use and operation of CI/CD pipelines for the automation of infrastructure and applications in cloud environments

Safe handling of common IT security practices such as identity and access management, data protection, encryption, certificate and key management

• Knowledge in the application of GitOps and Infrastructure-as-Code approaches and in the application of principles of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) in the provision of IT infrastructure

Your tasks:

Construction, design, development and operation of highly automated Kubernetes based infrastructures and deployment processes

Creation of the architecture and development of software solutions for the transport and testing of software artifacts in Air-Gapped environments

further development of Kubernetes operators for automated management of an artifact management, reference and testing system

Development and operation of Kubernetes operators in Golang and API Extensions in the environment Software Supply Chain Security

Ensuring compliance with safety standards (e.g. BSI protection) and best practices

Cooperation in the agile DevOps team to actively design innovative and scalable private cloud solutions
