The German Cancer Research Centre (DKFZ) is one of the largest cancer research centres in Europe. “Research for a life without cancer” is our mission and for this our world-class scientists work together with all employees. We investigate how cancer is created, identify cancer risk factors and look for new strategies that prevent people from suffering from cancer. We develop new methods that allow tumours to be diagnosed more precisely and cancer patients to be treated more successfully. The National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT) is a long-term cooperation between the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), excellent partners in university medicine and other research institutions at six locations in Germany. The aim of the NCT is to quickly and safely bring promising results from cancer research into clinical application. This will provide cancer patients with comprehensive access to innovative treatment approaches.

One of the six NCT sites is the NCT Dresden (NCT/UCC), which is carried by the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus Dresden (UCC), the Medical Faculty Carl Gustav Carus of the TU Dresden and the Helmholtz Centre Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR).

Design infrastructure & develop processes Working to build and operate a powerful IT infrastructure Coordination and implementation of modern IT processes Close cooperation with the IT departments of the DKFZ in Heidelberg and the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus Dresden Introducing innovative ideas for optimizing processes System administration & IT support Installation and maintenance of Windows and Linux workstations as well as standard software Implementation of software distribution and regular updates of applications Support of client and server landscape as well as specialist applications First and second level support for our employees: Analysis and sustainable troubleshooting – with vision and prevention Management and documentation of hardware and software resources Creation of user instructions and technical support for exciting IT projects Introduction to specific IT aspects of oncology and development of an understanding of oncological data

Complete study of computer science or a related subject or comparable training (e.g.:to the specialist:in) Ready-to-use knowledge and practical experience in working with current IT technologies, desktop and server operating systems from Microsoft and Linux Very good knowledge of German and good English in word and writing Sovereign, professionally competent and service-oriented appearance as well as very good communication skills
