The Technical Division (TD) is responsible for the planning, construction, operation and maintenance of the Hamburg Port Authority’s core port infrastructure with around 600 employees. It combines a wide range of engineering skills and provides comprehensive technical and project-related services. One of the central core competencies of the TD is the Kaimauerbau. The approximately 35 km HPA-own quay walls and shore walls are continuously monitored, evaluated and maintained in terms of their stability. In this respect, the assessment of the colonies and the depths of the structures is of particular importance. Required security and repair measures are identified and implemented at an early stage to ensure long-term stability and availability of port infrastructure.

The Overdepth and Sohlsicherung unit focuses on the analysis and assessment of the colonies, over depths and sole glands in the area of port infrastructure. Their tasks include the planning, control and implementation of sound-proofing measures and the technical assistance of investigations, construction and maintenance measures. The aim is to permanently ensure the stability of quay walls and other water-saving facilities and thus to support a safe and efficient port operation.

Our heart beats for the Port of Hamburg, which connects us! You plan and tax challenging projects to fill and protect engineer constructions from the first idea to the successful completion. Together with internal and external partners, you develop technical concepts, feasibility studies and sustainable solutions taking into account economic, technical and ecological requirements. In addition, you will set up tenders, carry out procurement procedures and enter engineering offices, reviewers and other external service providers. You contribute to the further development of plant management through the care and processing of relevant data and documents and have a look at the over-depth process. Rated on the basis of Peildaten, Building Ground Studies and Stock Analysis You develop the state of the buildings, develop innovative monitoring concepts for monitoring collective developments or guide suitable maintenance and security measures. Date, cost and budget management You will have a look at your projects at any time and be guided by a structured project controlling for transparency and planning security. During the construction design, you coordinate all participants, monitor the implementation of the measures in accordance with the contract and accompany acceptances, billings and the transfer of the structures. With your expertise, you also support the further development of technical standards, advise internal and external contact persons and actively contribute to securing the future of the port infrastructure.

You have successfully completed your studies in civil engineering and have well-founded knowledge in the planning, maintenance and development of engineering structures. You have several years of professional experience in civil engineering, ideally in port, water or ground construction. Experiences in the processing of overdepths are advantageous. You have knowledge or practical experience in port, water or quay wall construction, or you have the willingness to work in this challenging field. You are interested in static questions as well as in tasks of constructive water construction. Thanks to your expertise, you know the relevant technical standards, guidelines and legal frameworks and apply them safely in practice. In addition, you have a well-founded knowledge of public procurement and experience in managing challenging construction and infrastructure projects. Your independent, responsible and structured way of working allows you to work even complex tasks efficiently and reliably. In dealing with project participants, you convince through negotiation skills, enforcement skills and a safe occurrence without losing sight of the cooperative exchange.
