Area Manager / Department Manager Logistics / Logistics Manager (all genders)

The operating division is the heart of Amazon. This essential part of our company ensures that we send orders efficiently so that our customers receive their articles in time. As an Area Manager, you will ensure that all processes at your location work as smoothly as possible so that we can meet customer demand. You run a team that ensures the safety, efficiency and first-class quality of our operations. In addition, you will guide a number of projects across our entire network to promote productivity.

Key job responsibilities Your duties and responsibility:

You will take over the management of one of the most important teams in the logistics center: entrance, storage, removal, packaging or shipping. Together with your colleagues, you will ensure a smooth running of workflows and meet or exceed customer expectations.

With the department you run, we trust you a team of approximately 80 to 120 employees. You are responsible for the training and integration of employees while at the same time driving motivation and development. Because of a healthy judgment, you will ensure that progress is made and KPI targets are achieved.

• Ensure the safety of your workplace team and compliance with health and safety standards
• Head of a cross-functional team whose task is to solve operational problems.
• Preserving the high level of process quality of Amazon.
• Oversight of projects to streamline processes, optimize productivity and improve service quality for customers in your area of responsibility
• Analysis of the shifts according to company specifications and implementation of measures to improve our operational excellence
• Cooperation with colleagues at the management level in order to harmonize shift procedures

QUALIFICATIONS Required qualifications:

• Uni-, FH- or equivalent degree in the field of logistics, business management or a comparable area
• Leadership experience
• Relevant experience in communication with different stakeholders, including colleagues and executives
• Relevant experience in using data or anecdotal evidence to justify business decisions
• Ready to work in flexible times and layers
• Advanced German and English skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in working with Lean, Six-Sigma and Kaizen methods
• Experience with work in another logistics environment
• Experience in working with the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment
