The German Remote Sensing Data Centre (DFD) forms the Earth Observation Center (EOC) together with the Institute for Remote Sensing Methodology. It is the central facility for Earth observation in Germany. We receive, process and analyze satellite data to decrypt the Earth ecosystem and to provide society, public authorities and economy with data, information and applications, such as adaptation to climate change.

The Department of Science Communication and Visualization of the German Remote Sensing Data Center develops and operates web applications for the exploration and visualization of data for science and the external representation at trade fairs, exhibitions and museums. With its expertise in front-end solutions, the department also contributes to internal developments, such as EO4CAM, UKIS or the EOC data portal. The aim is to use current web surfaces or respectively Standalone applications to visualize and make geodata understandable.
