The Caritas Hospital of St. Lukas in Kelheim is a house of basic and regular care with 200 beds with the main departments of general and visual surgery, trauma surgery and orthopaedics, women's medicine and birth aid, internal medicine (cardiology, gastroenterology, physiology, diabetics, etc.) In addition, there are con­siliar agreements with other specialist departments both in the hospital sector and in the lower sector. A dialysis division operated by an external partner is located directly at the hospital. The Clinic for Trauma Surgery, Orthopaedics and Hand Surgery forms a supporting pillar of our medical offer. It provides injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system at the highest medical level. We use conservative and surgical therapies with minimally invasive methods for fractures and joints. The latest osteosynthesis materials and methods are used. In our clinic we can provide both inpatient and inpatient care if necessary. The Department of Accident Surgery is authorized by the statutory accident insurance for the treatment of accidents at work and school as part of the D-Arzt and DAV. Through close cooperation with the Regensburg MVZ GmbH Quartz in the house, rapid diagnostics can be used by means of computer-tomography (CT) or radiation-free magnetic resonance imaging (MRT) and the appropriate therapy can be initiated as soon as possible.
