Head of Settlement (m/f/d)

In the field to be responsible, twelve dedicated colleagues at Frankfurt and Düsseldorf are working to ensure the settlement of the commission business for our customers. The entire department also includes the processing of name shares and other downstream processes from the Clearing and Settlement area – in close cooperation with adjacent departments and IT. In your role, in addition to the day-to-day business, you take the professional responsibility for your colleagues in this area and actively contribute to the further development of the settlement business: Operational Responsibility: Settlement assignments for international stock exchanges, OTC transactions and third-party clearing will focus on the exception handling. In doing so, you can control communication with storage points, counterparties and internal interfaces, clarify deviations and ensure a fault-free and timely execution.

Process improvements with a wide view: You systematically analyze recurring error images in the settlement and encounters internal interfaces such as e.g. trade targeted improvement measures.

Strategic cooperation in projects: You promote the professional development of your subject area through active cooperation in projects and accompany e.g. Tests as part of new releases. This ensures that changes are not only implemented, but are professionally thought-out and sustainably anchored in the team.

Special leadership in the subteam: In your role, you take the operational responsibility of your colleagues in the field of expertise – from deployment planning to work organisation to regular technical feedback.

Sparring partner at eye level: You are in close contact with the department management and actively contributes your expertise, even when it comes to critically questioning things or consciously taking a different perspective.

Knowledge management and team development: You organize the targeted exchange of knowledge in the team, such as the incorporation of new colleagues or the introduction of new technical topics, thus strengthening the sustainable development of the entire field of expertise.

A completed commercial training, ideally in the financial environment, forms the basis of your expertise. You have well-founded experience in securities business, ideally settlement, and know the processes and requirements of the financial market infrastructure. You are very familiar with the popular storage systems like Cascade and Xact. Ideally, you also bring SWIFT knowledge. First experience in the professional guidance or guidance of colleagues is of advantage, but no need. Whether oral or written – you speak fluently German (C1) and also brings good English knowledge (B1) to securely read international processing information and to communicate with warehouses. Your change skills are shown by the fact that you can quickly work into new technical topics, changed methods and framework conditions. Even in an environment with high dynamics, you remain active, think with and actively advance developments. You are aware that Settlement is a sensitive environment with financial implications. Accordingly, you deal with pronounced risk awareness and work carefully, reliably and responsibly. With empathy and sound know-how, you strengthen your team and create clear orientation. You combine expert expertise with a holistic view and enthusiastic about common goals. You actively support the visions of the department management and actively shape their implementation.
