Local OPEX Lead (m/f/d)

Are you burning for lean principles and wanting to make sustainable improvements? As a Local OPEX lead, you are the driving force behind operational excellence and the continuous improvement at our production site in Wernigerode in the beautiful resin. You support teams to integrate Lean methods into their daily processes, and are crucial to achieving our strategic goals. Together with the location management, local teams and the global OPEX Council, you set clear priorities and bring significant added value to the organization. Your tasks: Implementation of a Lean production system: You make sure that vision, values and principles of the site not only remain guide images, but are integrated into daily work through a structured lean production system (visual management, A3 sinks and standardization). The aim is to create a stable framework for continuous improvement and fast, sound decisions. Development of Lean Leaders: You enable executives and teams to consistently apply and pass on Lean philosophy and its elements such as A3-Denken, PDCA and problem solution. You are mentor, savings partner and driver for a lean culture on site. Ensure effective cooperation: You work hand in hand with the location management, local stakeholders and the global OPEX Council to translate strategic goals, achieve measurable improvements and promote transparency in the processes. Establish continuous improvement: You develop a Kaizen mentality with the teams and promote sustainable process improvements through systematic problem solving (Root-Cause Analysis, 5-Why). Your focus: real changes instead of short-term solutions. Project management and prioritization: You guide important OPEX initiatives and cross-functional projects, always with a view to the development of employees, process stability and customer benefits while respecting our lean principles. Shopfloor excellence: You are present on the surface and support the teams in solving the problem by correctly transferring lean tools like SMED, Kanban and One Piece flow. Your goal is to anchor positive behaviors and a robust improvement routine. As an active member of the Global OPEX Council, you participate in best practices, contribute to the further development of lean strategies and help to create consistent standards across organisations.

Education: A completed training in business, natural sciences, engineering or a related field. Professional experience: At least 5 years of experience in lean management, operational excellence or process optimization – preferably in the pharmaceutical industry. Lean expertise: profound understanding of Lean principles, methods and tools (e.g. A3, Hoshin Kanri, Kata). You know about KPIs/KBIs and you know how you’re inspired by Gemba-Walk’s employees and you’ll achieve sustainable results. Management competence: You are open and communicative and can motivate, coach and inspire teams at all levels. Certification: A proof of successful execution of Lean projects is required. Knowledge and application of the Shingo principles are advantageous. Language knowledge: German and English flowing for work in an international environment.
