Digital sovereignty for art colleges is a joint project of the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart, the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Karlsruhe and the Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe. The aim of the project, supported by the Innovation Foundation in higher education, is to develop and develop a digital teaching infrastructure based on the principles of sovereignty, openness, fatigue and sustainability in the context of artistic practice. Digital sovereignty means the ability of the institutions to allow all university members to use digital technologies in a self-determined, reflected and safe manner. The development of the digital infrastructure is therefore linked to a teaching and training programme for the development of a culture of data sovereignty and digital tiredness, which is aimed at the entire Higher Education Community. Subject to the final funding approval, the three art colleges have to occupy positions for the multi-level studio digital sovereignty in the areas of project coordination, digital curation, IT architecture, IT infrastructure and software.
