Academic Manager for the IEE (m/f/d)

We are looking for a full-time period of 13.05.2026 (39.83 hours/week = 100 %) Managing Director*in (Academic Manager) m/w/d for the IEE The Institute for Development Research and Development Policy is a central scientific institution of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum. As a Scientific Director*in (m/w/d), you take on scientific and administrative management tasks in the IEE and contribute to the sharpening of the Institute profile through your own teaching, research and third-party funding. Independent planning and implementation of English-language courses and supervision of master's work Self-employed development of research projects and applications as well as independent implementation of social science research and cooperation in interdisciplinary research projects Budget planning, use and monitoring for budget and third-party funds, negotiation and content design of consortial agreements Management of the coordinators and control of personnel use Management of the IEE courses Participation in building and maintaining international networks/consortia for the application of EU and BMFTR projects Long-term or case-by-case application of scholarships for MA or PhD IDS students. Communication with scholarship holders Responsible for interim and final reports to third-party donors (including organisation of external audits) In cooperation with the Managing Director: Perspective Planning, Teaching Reporting; Organisation, implementation and post-processing of (re)accreditation procedures. Participation in all IEE bodies and in RUB exchange forums

Social Science Promotion Research on issues of food security and poverty in international and interdisciplinary contexts independent English and international teaching and support experience Experience in science and study management first third-party experience (application, execution, settlement) first experience in personnel management very good German knowledge Competence in at least one of the two languages and the willingness to acquire the other are assumed.
