Cloud Architect (m/f/d)

Design the strategic cloud orientation of University IT in NRW HITS.NRW is a newly established, central IT service provider for public universities in North Rhine-Westphalia. Our mission: Together with the universities of applied sciences, shape the university IT of the future. For this we develop scalable services from the areas of cloud, cyber security, software and IT security. We provide modern, safe and efficient solutions – so that universities can concentrate entirely on teaching, art and science, and sensitive data is protected as best possible. With us, you actively shape a newly founded company – and develop the cloud architecture from scratch: You meet technological policy decisions, define standards and create the basis for a future-oriented university IT. You design scalable cloud architectures (Public, Private, Hybrid) and develop viable target images for University IT You accompany transformation projects and support the migration of existing systems into modern cloud environments In order to ensure quality and safety, you define architecture standards and ensure their compliance You analyze existing system landscapes and manage data-based optimization measures As a Sparring Partner for Internal and External Stakeholders, you advise on architecture decisions, technologies and best practices

Complete university studies of (economic) informatics or comparable qualifications Multiannual experience in IT architecture, ideally in the cloud environment Understanding cloud architectures and cloud-native technologies Experience in planning and implementing cloud transformations Ideally certifications in common cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) German knowledge of at least C1 level and good English skills
