Process & Automation Engineer (m/f/d)

Process analysis & automation: You analyze existing processes in all departments, identify automation potentials and implement them with the appropriate tools – from simple workflow automation to complex, cross-system integrations. Workflow Tools & Low Code: You build and operate automation with tools such as n8n, assess when low code is sufficient and when clean needs to be developed – and make this decision consciously and well founded. API integration & system architecture: You know about REST APIs and Webhooks, know what software is responsible, and build integrations between our existing systems (ERP, CRM, etc.) clean and manageable. Custom Development (GCP): Where it is necessary, you develop yourself – or coordinate external developers with clear technical vision. Experience with Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, etc.) is an advantage. AI & Prompt Engineering: You know how to embed LLMs meaningfully in processes: structure data, build context, make outputs usable. No model training – but a deep understanding of what AI can help and where it is overestimated. Tool strategy & responsibility: You keep an overview of our tool landscape, recognize redundancy and gaps and provide recommendations on what system should be used when. Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: What you build, you document so that others understand it – not blackbox engineering, but sustainable solutions with clear handover.

Technical studies or training: Complete study of computer science, business informatics or comparable IT training (e.g. specialist application development) – the technical background is crucial. Professional experience: At least 5 years of practical experience in software development, system integration or process automation – ideally in an agile environment with real business contact. Technical craftsmanship: Secure handling of APIs, Webhooks and database queries; experience in at least one programming language (Python, JavaScript or the like); Basic understanding for cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS or Azure). Workflow automation: Practical experience with automation platforms such as n8n or comparable tools – you know what You can and where their boundaries are. Architecture understanding: You think in systems, not in individual solutions. You understand data flows, responsibilities between tools and you know how to build solutions that are still predictable in a year. AI application knowledge: You have practically integrated LLMs into processes – Prompt design, context control, output processing. No research, but pragmatic use. Languages: Very good German and reliable English – for technical communication with internal teams and external partners. Personality: independent, pragmatic, curious.
