Rail Optimization Specialist (m/f/d)

Specialist (m/w/d) Hours: Full time, 40 hours Location: Hamburg, Germany As a Rail Optimization Specialist (m/w/d), you can ensure the permanent, timely and cost-effective supply of oil-produced tankers used throughout Germany. You will set up inventory, supply and capacity planning and optimise logistics, inventory targets and fleet utilization. As part of an international, entrepreneurial thinking team, you are proposing a strong exchange of information with your colleagues throughout the entire VARO group as well as our trading and logistics partners. You are also closely involved in the planning and logistics processes.

Processing of information on stock, demand, production, fleet, terminal restrictions, supply, market structure and margin Management of the daily meeting(s) for optimisation Management of lending, supplies and stocks of third parties (including CSO) Meeting of short-term transport decisions (Charter/Miete) Optimisation of logistics to achieve existing targets, optimization of margin and fleet utilization Decision on the optimal mode of transport, volume and supply for implementation

You have successfully completed your studies or your training in the commercial, supply chain or logistics sector. Ideally, you already have professional experience in logistics and supply chain management - preferably in the mineral oil industry. Ideally, you have already gained first experience in rail logistics or shipping logistics. You have the ability to communicate binding, friendly and clear and are an enthusiastic team player. You like to work in cross-functional teams. You develop your own initiative and trade independently, independently and structured. You also think analytically, predictively and above all solution-oriented in a rapidly changing market environment. You have experiences with ERP and EPRM systems and ideally have knowledge of JD Edwards (Oracle). Your communication strength is complemented by fluent German and English skills.
