Automation Technology Engineer – Project Responsibility (m/f/d)

Our client is a globally active technology company in plant engineering and specializes in automation, drive and digitization solutions for the metal industry. At the established location in Saarbrücken, experienced engineering teams have been working for many years on demanding automation projects for well-known customers from the steel and process industry. The location is broadly defined, technically deeply anchored and closely integrated into national and international project structures.

In order to strengthen the team, a technically experienced personality is now being sought, which as an engineering automation technology (m/w/d) is independently supervised with project responsibility complex automation projects. In this role, you assume the operational responsibility for projects in the plant and process automation environment – from technical clarification to engineering activities to implementation and commissioning. You work closely in the project, manage technical content, coordinate participating interfaces and are in direct contact with customers, internal departments and cross-site project teams.

In contrast to a classic project manager, the focus of this position is clearly on the technology: an engineer who takes responsibility, makes decisions and advances projects in terms of content is sought. You work in a well-established team with high technical expertise, benefit from clear structures and at the same time have the opportunity to actively contribute their own experiences and ideas.

Technical and operational responsibility for automation projects in the plant and process automation environment – from technical clarification to implementation and commissioning Active cooperation in engineering: technical development of automation solutions, detailed clarifications, coordination of concepts and interfaces Independent control of projects with regard to technical content, appointments and quality – always in close coordination with customers and internal departments Technical coordination of project participants (e.g. subproject management, automation engineers, application engineers) Close cooperation with the location management as well as cross-site project teams Monitoring of construction sites and commissioning – project-dependent and moderate travel Creation of project-related technical documentation as well as punctual support in the training of operators Active participation in the further development of the site and the establishment of efficient technical and organizational processes

Complete studies in electrical engineering, automation technology or comparable Multiannual professional experience in the technical engineering environment of automation or plant engineering, ideally with project-related responsibility Funded technical understanding in automation technology (e.g. switching systems, drive technology, control and control systems) Willingness to take on technical project responsibility and actively shape projects Hands-on-Mentality and joy in advancing technical issues Structured, pragmatic working and clear communication in the project environment German and English skills Moderate readiness for construction sites and commissioning operations in the region, driving licence class B
