(Senior) Expert IT Forensics (m/f/d)

As the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (Bafin), we are committed to a functioning, stable and integrated financial system every day – and thus also for a competitive financial centre in Germany. As a supervisory authority for banks, insurance companies, financial service providers and securities institutions, we act at the heart of the financial industry and protect consumers. As part of the Single Supervisory Mechanism and Resolution Mechanism for the Banks of the Eurozone, we are networked in Europe and worldwide and are co-designing European and international financial market standards. We are looking for an (Senior) Expertin IT-Forensik (w/m/d) for the Forensics Competence Centre of the Bafin for an unlimited activity in full-time or part-time as a speaker at our office in Bonn. The Bafin conducts on-going investigations in the context of audits carried out by supervised companies. IT-forensic means for data protection and evaluation are also used. In order to complete our team, we are looking for you as an expert with special knowledge and/or with interest in IT forensics in order to support the Bafin in future research in the field of IT forensics and to contribute it to the Bafin's new area of responsibility. Planning, organisation and implementation of the short-term IT-forensic analyses in the context of investigations with supervised companies Preparation of IT-forensic analyses by research in publicly available sources Support in the clarification of regulatory violations and other misconduct in in interdisciplinary testing teams Ensuring and investigating digital data as well as data recovery and processing – sometimes also through access to secure and deleted data and systems Analysis of IT systems by digital traces and artifacts for the purpose of clarifying the digital scene Compilation of judicial investigation reports on IT-forensic analyses Strategic planning and further development of the IT-forensic infrastructure in the Bafin Training and consultation of the various departments on IT-forensic backups and possibilities of data analysis, as well as resulting problems Ensuring the up-to-dateness of the IT-forensic methods and tools used by monitoring current developments on the market and introducing appropriate methods and tools Cooperation and communication with the internal and external bodies involved (including public prosecutors or audit firms)

You have completed at least the grade ''good'' a university degree (Master/University Diploma) of (economic) mathematics, (administrative) informatics, IT-Forensics, business informatics, physics or comparable natural science studies with IT-related orientation. OR You have a university degree (university diploma or master's degree) completed at least with the ''good'' grade, which opens up access to the higher level of service, have at least two years of professional experience in the field of IT forensics and have been explicitly trained or further developed. OR You have completed, with at least the ''satisfactory'' grade, a university degree (master/university diploma), which opens up access to the higher service, and must have at least five years of relevant professional experience in the field of IT forensics and have been explicitly trained or further developed for this purpose. You have expertise in the architecture and function of common operating systems, file systems, networks and databases Ideally, you have collected your professional experience with a criminal prosecution authority (police/customs) or audit firm with forensic expertise. You have ideally experience with common IT tools such as X-Ways, Encase and NUIX as well as eDiscovery Tools You convince colleagues and externals on the basis of your appraisal approach and your clear approach to the matter You have the digital skills to understand and classify new developments in a digital environment You are open to work in projects or project structures and ideally have experiences in workshop and moderation techniques, agile working methods or even in project management You have very good knowledge of English You fulfil the requirements of § 7 para. 1 Federal Staff Act / § 3 para. 1.1 TvöD-V, in particular, possess the nationality of a Member State of the European Union, of the European Economic Area or of Switzerland and are willing to enter into the fundamental democratic system of freedom For the written activity it is absolutely necessary that you consent to an extended safety review pursuant to § 9 SÜG before you cease. You must have knowledge of the German language at least at level C1 GER We presume you are ready to do business trips. Service trips can also take several days, but are usually planned.
