W2 Professorship in Social Work (m/f/d)

We are strong in the design of the social – for over 100 years. Our Evangelical University (EH) is part of the HAW Baden-Württemberg, where 24 universities are represented for Applied Sciences (HAW). The university is a member of the relevant Rector Conferences (HRK, RKH BW, RKHD, REF). All courses are nationally accredited. The institution of the university is the Evangelical Church in Baden.

EH Freiburg is a SAGE High School: Teaching, Research and Transfer Focusing on Social Work, Health Sciences, Education and Education as well as Applied Theology. This profile is a specific feature of all HAW in ecclesiastical support. For university teachers this is central, because it goes far beyond the mere thematic choice. The aim is to make a relevant contribution to the shaping of a sustainable, democratic and social-state society. We qualify people for social and global responsibility for greater justice. We understand application orientation as a solution orientation.

Our university is distinguished by outstanding research. It is in the top group of HAW in Baden-Württemberg with regard to the acquisition of third-party funds and the publication performance. Research is interdisciplinary throughout. The research focus is on childhood education, which is represented on the research map of the University Rectors' Conference (HRK). With a competence centre for gender research, equipped with two main professorships, the university has a strong professional profile in gender studies. In addition, she works on research topics that are globally virulent: for example, right-wing extremism and right-wing populism, migration and racism, anti-Semitism, sustainability, demographic change, peace research (especially through the peace institute of the university), health and supply research. The CHE has continuously tested the research strength of our university as outstanding. The EH Freiburg is a member of the Baden-Württemberg Promotion Association and the university lecturers are represented in the associated doctoral center.

With their research activities, their participation in umbrella and specialist associations, their commitment to transfer and scientific training, their policy advice and their practical cooperations nationally and internationally, our university teachers contribute to the development of societies. With around 1,000 Bachelor and Master students, we implement teaching and learning in small seminar groups with intensive care.

Professorship Science Social Work W2, 75 %, unlimited The professorship represents the subject of social work in teaching, research and transfer. You teach theories and methods of social work in the courses of the university. You know discourses about professionalism and professionalization, history of social work and are familiar with kasuistic approaches. You bring their own focus, which complements the College. We are particularly pleased with expertise in the areas of digital transformation, media and communication in social work and/or social-spatial perspectives.

We focus on your expertise and responsibility for the conceptual new and further development of the courses, also with a view to digital teaching formats.

The teaching is provided in the degree programs of the university, predominantly in the Bachelor of Social Work and in the consecutive research-oriented Master Social Work.

The willingness to offer courses in further courses of study at the university is assumed. The professorship is assigned to the Department of Social Work.

An active contribution to the science of social work is expected by own empirical research and/or contributions to the development of theory. We want a team-capable, dedicated person with gender and diversity competence to support our college. It is also desirable to help shape the international orientation of the university.

Scope of the teaching obligation The teaching obligation for a professorship in parttime (75 %) is 13.5 semester week hours (SWS). In the first semester, the teaching obligation for incorporation in accordance with the valid deputy order of the Evangelical University of Freiburg is reduced by 2,3 SWS.

Appointment and appointment Their appointment as a university teacherin in an indefinite employee relationship with the Evangelical State Church in Baden takes place by the Evangelical Oberkirchenrat Karlsruhe, the appointment as a professorin by the university.
