The Bundesgesellschaft für Endlager (BGE) is looking for a site for a high-radioactive waste end storage facility and is building the Konrad end storage facility for low- and medium-radioactive waste. The BGE keeps the Morsleben end camp open until shutdown and plans to recover the radioactive waste from the Asse shaft plant. The BGE is a federal company in the department of the Federal Environment Ministry.

You take over the management of the organizational unit radiation protection with the subunits “end storage monitoring” and “environment monitoring” according to order as a responsible person according to atomic law. In addition, you are working as responsible radiation protection officers of the end camp for radioactive waste Morsleben (ERAM). In addition, you will ensure the end storage and environmental monitoring of the ERAM and issue releases according to Chapter 3 of Part 2 of the StrlSchV and its expenditure. The product control of radioactive waste is one of your tasks. You shall monitor compliance with the legislation and permits applicable to the operation in the field of radiation protection, as well as the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports concerning the ERAM radiation protection monitoring and opinions to supervisory authorities and other institutions. The representation of the BGE to authorities and service providers as well as the cooperation in cross-BGE competence groups and in radiation protection bodies as well as the support of students from the Dual University in the practical phase complete your tasks.

You have completed university/higher education in a technical, mathematical or scientific field, ideally with a degree in the field of radiation protection. In addition, you will bring at least three years of practical experience as a radiation protection officer in a plant of the federal or a nuclear technology plant.
