We are looking for a strong leadership personality (m/w/d) at the next possible time, which actively shapes the digital future of the city of Ulm as a leader in digital urban development and innovation (m/w/d) With the reorientation of the control and coordination unit “Digital Urban Development and Innovation”, the city of Ulm creates a central interface for the strategic control, coordination and further development of digital transformation processes. The aim is to think digital urban development holistic, to set framework conditions and to implement innovative projects sustainably – for the benefit of administration, business, science and citizenship. The city of Ulm combines technological innovation, sustainability and social participation. The management of the newly oriented control and coordination unit “Digital Urban Development and Innovation” is directly assigned to the First Mayor of the City of Ulm. Payment is made up to 14 TVöD or grade A14.

Your tasks: strategic control and further development of the digital urban development of Ulms, including the continuation and implementation of a holistic digital strategy Establishment and management of the control and coordination unit as an organizational and conceptual switching point of urban digital policy Initiation, support and evaluation of innovative projects and future projects in the field of digital urban development, urban innovation and transformation Third-party acquisition and funding management for digitalisation projects in the urban context Coordination and networking of actors from administration, politics, business, science and civil society Development and operation of the conspiracy building as an innovation and networking centre Head of the office of the Competence Center Digital City Promoting a practical, networked and learning management culture that enables innovation while ensuring stable, reliable processes Representation of the city of Ulm on subjects of digital urban development at national, federal and EU level

Your profile: completed academic studies, e.g. Master of Arts – Public Management and Graduate administrator*in (FH) with career skills for the higher service, administration, urban or regional development, economic, social or political sciences, computer science / digital transformation or comparable qualification well-founded knowledge in digital strategy as well as in innovation and change management, ideally in the municipal environment Ability to network actors from administration, politics, business, science and society and to translate their interests into sustainable strategies and implementable solutions, including trends and developments strong communication strength, persuasiveness, negotiation skills and enthusiasm strategic thinking as well as pronounced conceptual and analytical skills to bring visions into communal reality Experience in the leadership of interdisciplinary teams as well as in the management and implementation of complex (digitalization) projects involving internal and external stakeholders Joy in shaping change processes and innovation awareness
