Supplier: Chair of Sustainable Thermo Process Engineering and Institute of Industrial Furnace Engineering and Heat Technology The Institute for Industrial Furnace Engineering and Heat Technology (IOB) is one of the world's leading research institutes in the field of thermoprocess technology. Our research focuses on complex thermal, fluid-mechanical and thermochemical processes and their industrial implementation. Together with industrial partners, we develop technologies for energy and resource-efficient production processes. For our scientific work we operate a versatile IT infrastructure: from classic workstation systems to virtualized server landscapes to systems for simulation, modeling and scientific computing. This infrastructure is continuously developed and adapted to new requirements from research and teaching. To strengthen our IT team, we are looking for an IT system administrator (w/m/d) who runs our systems to be further developed and actively involved. You work in a small, technically broad IT team and maintain a heterogeneous infrastructure from Windows, Linux and virtualization systems. Among other things, you take over: Administration and development of our server and network infrastructure Operation and development of virtualized systems (e.g. Proxmox) Supporting Windows and Linux systems in research and office Automation of administrative tasks using scripts and tools Supporting our scientific staff in IT issues Planning and implementation of IT security measures Selection, procurement and integration of new hardware and software You will have the opportunity to improve existing solutions and introduce new technologies.

Your profile You have completed training in IT (e.g. specialist in system integration) or a comparable qualification. Ideally, you have experience in several of the following areas: Windows Administration (Clients, Server, Active Directory) Linux system administration (e.g. Debian or Ubuntu) Network services and infrastructure (e.g. DHCP, DNS) Virtualization, ideally with Proxmox Software distribution, e.g. with OPSI Automation and Scripting (PowerShell, Shell, Python) IT Security and System Curing We are also important: a structured and independent operation Joy in cooperation with researchers from research and technology Teamability and interest in new technologies good knowledge of German and English

The employment is in the employment relationship. The place shall be occupied at the next possible time and shall be limited to 2 years. An extension to four years is envisaged The deadline is governed by § 14 para. 1 Part-time and temporary legislation (TzBfG). It is a part-time job with half the regular weekly working time. The grouping depends on the TV-L. The place is rated up to EG 9a, depending on the personal condition. The job description is aimed at all sexes.
