IT Operations Engineer - Server & Storage (m/f/d)

You are a contact person when it comes to the stable and secure operation of the server and storage infrastructure with a well-known customer from the semiconductor industry. Together with your team, you monitor the infrastructure, process incidents and service requests and carry out technical first and fault analyses. Whenever it comes to hardware, firmware, performance or availability problems, you analyse the causes and initiate appropriate measures. You support malfunctions, changes, maintenance, updates and commissioning - remote as well as directly at the customer location in Dresden. You take care of standardized testing and operating tasks, replacement of defective components and their technical restart. You can also support firmware, driver and lifecycle measures as well as system tests and technical functional testing. In your position, you will work with critical malfunctions and Major Incidents and coordinate manufacturers, international partners and technical specialists as required. You work in shift operation and ensure the complete availability of the IT infrastructure together with your team. Last but not least, you can document faults, solutions and technical measures, ensure structured layer transfer and actively contribute to the further development of operating processes and the improvement of our service quality.

Complete training or studies in the field of computer science, IT system technology, electrical engineering or a comparable qualification. Practical experience in the operation or support of server or Storage infrastructures as well as the diagnosis of hardware, firmware and system disorders. Experience with ticket, monitoring or system management solutions is advantageous. Knowledge of enterprise server, storage or datacenter environments and ideally with HPE, Dell, Lenovo or NetApp. Knowledge of ITIL-oriented operating processes, SAN, NAS, backup and virtualization are desirable. Experiences with automation, APIs, scripting and manufacturer certifications are also advantageous. Very good knowledge of German as well as advanced knowledge of English in business context and/or mandarin. Willingness to work on site at the customer in Dresden as well as in shift operations including night, weekend and holiday classes.
