System Administrator Linux and vSphere (m/w/d)

System Administrator/-in Linux and vSphere (m/w/d) We are looking for the Office for Digitization, Organization and IT (DO.IT) of the Landeshauptstadt Stuttgart. The place shall be occupied without delay. The team IT infrastructure Linux Server and databases ensures secure operation of central IT systems. We operate Linux servers, databases and virtual environments. Our tasks include monitoring, backups, spam protection and web gateway. The administration of network services and IT security according to BSI standards are also included.

Thanks to you, urban IT runs stable and safe, as you operate our Linux servers, virtual machines and containers You configure and manage DNS and DHCP servers as well as firewalls You increase IT security by conducting audits and securing systems according to BSI guidelines You provide central network services, e.g. Mailgateways incl. Spam protection You secure data through backups, monitor systems and troubleshoot technical disturbances You document processes and work closely with colleagues to ensure smooth operation A change or addition of the task area is reserved.

A completed university degree (Bachelor) in the field of computer science, information technology or a completed training as a specialist in system integration or a comparable technical training with at least 3-year relevant professional experience Multiannual experience in managing Linux servers (Debian) and in virtualization environments (e.g. Proxmox or VMware) Knowledge of the configuration and management of DNS, DHCP and Mailgateways IT security experience, ideally with BSI policies, IT basic protection or KRITIS Confidence with monitoring and analysis tools (e.g. Wireshark, Icinga, Prometheus) Advantageous are knowledge of agile methods or DevOps as well as in handling configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
