Teamlead Data Science - Data & AI Research (m/f/d)

As Teamlead Data Science (m/w/d) in the Data & AI Research area at the Berlin site, you are responsible for the development of machine learning models and support your team from experienced data scientists in solving specific business and process problems. You think projects end-to-end, take ownership and work closely with Product Managers, the Engineering Team and other executives. You report directly to the Head of Data & AI Research and perform the following tasks:

You are responsible for the development and quality assurance of AI models - from time series forecasts and statistical analysis to LLMs and Computer Vision. Your Data Science team will actively support you in the selection, development and production of suitable models. In addition, design the strategic orientation of the area and prioritize projects according to effectiveness and feasibility. The professional leadership of your team is your responsibility; You also take on the disciplinary responsibility in perspective. Regular 1:1s, development talks and targeted upskilling help you develop your employees. Agile working methods and OKR processes anchor you in the team and drive the adoption of AI solutions in the company.

You have successfully completed your studies in computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, economics or a comparable subject. Multiannual professional experience in the fields of data science, machine learning and AI model development. Excellent programming skills in Python and SQL. In addition, you have experience with common ML frameworks such as PyTorch and scikit-learn as well as with AWS; Knowledge of PySpark and Databricks are advantageous. A good understanding of software development and data architecture is also part of your profile. In addition, you have experience in the professional/disciplinary leadership of data science teams and have the pleasure of coaching and developing people. You have a strong business confession as well as the ability to link technical work with entrepreneurial goals. Your good communication and presentation skills in German (at least C1) and English allow you to explain complex issues clearly and addressably. There is a readiness to travel about four to five days a month.
