Head of IT Operations (m/f/d)

Dansk Skoleforening for Sydslesvig e.V. is looking for a manager (m/w/d) IT operation for the IT department at 9.3.2026 or after consultation. The management of IT operations plays a central role in ensuring a stable and secure operation of the extensive IT infrastructure of the school club. The IT department is responsible for the operation and further development of the entire IT infrastructure of the school club, including a data center with three Hyper-V clusters, approx. 130 virtual servers, networks (WAN/LAN/WiFi), telephony, virtualization environments (Citrix, Hyper-V) as well as PCs, iPads and other mobile devices for approximately 2,500 students and 1,800 employees. As Head of (m/w/d) IT Business, you have the overall responsibility for the technical operation, including the coordination of the operational tasks, the optimization of the system landscape and the participation in the implementation of the IT and safety strategy of the School Association. You also act as a representation of the IT management. It is a full-time office with office in the IT department in Flensburg and with close cooperation with schools and daycare centers throughout the school club.

Ensuring stable, secure and efficient operation of the IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, clients and central systems. Monitoring, maintenance and further development of the operating environment and ensuring a current documentation of systems, processes and workflows. Management and coordination of the operating team including task distribution, resource management, tracking and communication between the various IT teams. Participation in the implementation and compliance of IT security policies and emergency concepts, including incident management. Support for contract and license management in cooperation with relevant colleagues. Advising the management, departments and facilities on technical solutions and participation in the planning and introduction of new technologies.

Complete relevant training in the IT sector and well-founded experience in technical operations, system administration and IT support. Experience in employee management as well as pronounced coordination and organisational skills. Structured, analytical and solution-oriented mode of operation with the ability to keep an overview even in stressful situations and to prioritize operationally critical tasks. Very good communication and team skills as well as the ability to convey technical facts to both technical and non-technical users. Interest in implementing IT strategies in an educational and value-oriented organization. Bilingual in Danish and German
