The RD/KES (Cross Series Exterior Sight Systems) department develops and is responsible for the mirror systems, the ornamental and the development and testing of roof-opening systems in addition to vehicle lasering. Our team's portfolio includes innovation, pre-development and series volumes around the glazing of all Mercedes-Benz and Maybach car series. Through the numerous interfaces of our components, you will be able to gain insights into a variety of areas of expertise such as design, crash, total vehicle, quality and process protection. You will also get an overview of the entire development process from the early design model to the final series vehicle – all at our location in the Mercedes-Benz Technology Center in Sindelfingen. These challenges include: Activities in component and laboratory tests on topics such as heat protection, transmission optics, optical assessments of sample parts in the Advanced Glazing Lab Innovative experiments to measure new optical effects Technology protection and monitoring Calibration and measurement equipment monitoring Preparation of device maintenance by external manufacturers Work on the documentation of quality management (Laboraudit) In each phase of your student work, you receive active support from the entire team. There is the possibility for you to intensify yourself individually in other, special topics. The acceptance of (partial) projects is also possible and desirable!
