Number: MER0003MHC The Mercedes-Benz plant Hamburg primarily produces axles, exhaust manifolds, steering columns and structural and operating elements. In addition to today's production, the Hamburg plant also offers pioneering development and production technologies, in particular in the field of lightweight construction. The further development of these technologies as well as the entire process chain from concept testing to series production takes place here in the most modern production areas. These challenges come to you: Optimization of an expansion plant with the aid of the FEM: revision of an existing FEM model of the expansion plant Considering real wall thicknesses of the sheet metal parts and hole dimensions of the E-Flansche (measurement series evaluation) Imaging the current failure points (expansion tool and mandrel) Development of optimization potentials: Close column Clamps of the E-Flansche Increase durability of tools The final topics will be discussed with the university, you and us.
