RWTH Aachen In order to ensure the smooth operation of this top research, our IT team supports a highly complex, heterogeneous and industrially connected IT landscape that covers both demanding administrative tasks and scientific requirements (such as high-performance computing). Our focus is on the strategic and future-oriented development of our systems, taking into account high availability, modern virtualization and the integration of pioneering AI technologies. Infrastructure management: independent planning, configuration and administration of our Windows (2019/2022) and Linux server landscapes (Ubuntu, RHEL, Debian). Virtualization & Cloud: Operation and scaling of highly available VMware vSphere environments as well as management of hybrid scenarios (Microsoft 365, Azure AD/Entra ID). Security & Compliance: Implementation and monitoring of IT security concepts according to ISO 27001 and NIS2 requirements as well as management of backup and disaster recovery strategies. Innovation & Automation: Proactive use of AI tools (e.g. copilot, LLM interfaces) for optimizing workflows, log analyses and for automation using PowerShell and Bash scripting. Project management & training: Management of IT transformation projects and professional support for trainees in the field of system integration.

Your profile Qualification: Complete vocational training as a specialist in system integration or equivalent qualification with long-term, relevant professional experience. Expertise: Comprehensive, thorough and versatile expertise in the administration of complex Active-Directory structures, Group Policies and basic network services (DNS, DHCP, Certificate Services). Technological know-how: knowledge gained in practice in controlling virtualization environments (VMware) and modern cloud infrastructures. Excited certifications in the network area (e.g. CCNA) are advantageous. Security & Right: Experience in the preparation, monitoring and practical implementation of IT security audits (according to BSI IT-Grundschutz or ISO 27001). Training: You ideally possess the training examination (AEVO) or provide the willingness to acquire them in the short term in order to lead the training at the institute. Soft Skills: High problem-solving competence, a distinctly independent and structured way of working, as well as the ability to establish and safely represent complex technical facts and IT strategies towards the institute management.

Supplier: Chair of foundry and foundry institute The employment is in the employment relationship. The place shall be occupied at the next possible time and shall be fixed 31.03.2028. The deadline is governed by § 14 para. 1 Part-time and temporary legislation (TzBfG). It is a full-time job. The grouping depends on the TV-L.
