Number: MER0003G5Q In Group Research & Mercedes-Benz Cars Development (RD), we design the automotive generations of the future. We mean innovative products with the highest quality and efficient development processes. We are already working on vehicles that will secure the technology leadership of Mercedes-Benz AG in the future. The engine development of our department at the locations Sindelfingen & Untertürkheim develops series applications that optimize the trade-off from the partial-constant requirements on the engine. We support the reliability of our engines by ensuring compliance with the specified limits under all operating conditions. We work closely with the design, mechanical development, hydraulics and rideability to develop the engine hardware and application optimally. During your student work, you will work in coordination with the development engineers on current issues as part of the further development of passenger cars. Close to the product and with a focus on series use, you will get a direct insight into sophisticated technologies and sophisticated engine development standards. Many insights into current development trends and the development of expertise complete your use. These challenges include: Working with the engine test rigs and exhaust gas rollers Preparation of measurements Evaluation and documentation of the measurement results Organisational tasks in the context of measurements at engine test stands and vehicles Insight into technology protection, pollutant emissions and fuel consumption The activity can start from January 2026.

Study programme in the field of mechanical engineering with deepening of vehicle/motor technology or a comparable study programme Secure knowledge of German and English in word and writing Safe handling of MS Office, knowledge of a programming language and user-specific software are desirable Commitment, team skills, structured working Basic knowledge of internal combustion engines & thermodynamics desirable
