We mean innovative products with the highest quality and efficient development processes. We accompany the change in technologies, products, services and services, supported by cross-functional teams in the company. In the Center Drive Systems e-Drive, we are responsible for e-drive development with specific equipment & infrastructure as part of e-drive testing at the Sindelfingen site. Topic of the Master's thesis: The securing process in the electrical drive assembly forms an essential pillar in achieving the end customer quality for Mercedes Benz vehicles. At the same time, testing is a strong focus due to its resource requirements in times of change in the automotive industry. The aim of this master thesis is the analysis of existing test processes and the comparison with the current state of the art. In the second step, the goal is to develop a “Next Generation Test Strategy” for electric drives, which uses the latest methods and findings in testing for the process in the field and thus maximizes the efficiency and effectiveness of testing. Detailed tasks: Test method: Identification of the state of the art with overarching testing standards (ASPICE, Req. Based Testing, etc...)
Process Analysis: Recording Status Quo of Testing Processes, Compensation with Extensive Testing Standards and Discharge of Short Potentials
Innovations: Identification of innovations in the environment of systemic testing taking into account current focus topics such as AI
Conception Next Gen Strategy: Holistic derivation of a next gen Test Strategy for electric drives (incl. definition target)
Application: Dissipation of concrete, operational needs for the subject area for further development of testing
Efficiency: Developing a long-term strategy to identify cost-saving potentials by optimizing testing processes
The activity can begin from December 2025. The final topics will be discussed with the university, you and us.
You are studying in master mechatronics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or a comparable engineering study program
You have first experience in the automotive industry and its development processes
As part of your studies, you already have contact points with test methods and test contents at any level of integration
You want to develop innovative solutions in the team
