Number: MER0003UWF In Group Research & Mercedes-Benz Cars Development (RD), we shape the mobility of tomorrow. The “Rohbau-Engineering, Material, Hardware & Tolerance” department is responsible for the forming technology and production capability of single parts – from pre-development to series. Our manufacturing and technology consulting has a significant impact on product maturity in early stages. In addition, we assume responsibility for the budget and quality of raw building prototype parts during the development phase. The “Productability & Material Raw Structure” team works in an interdisciplinary and creative way on new materials and production technologies, feasibility analyses as well as equipment constructions for prototype production. These challenges include: Analysis of the mechanical and technical properties of aluminium sheets with increased recycling

Independent planning, implementation and evaluation of experiments

Documentation, presentation and discussion of experimental results

Assessment of critical accompanying elements with regard to the reshapability of aluminium sheets

The activity can begin from February 2026.

Degree course in mechanical engineering with deepening in materials and/or manufacturing technology or a comparable degree course

First experience in material testing, sheet metal forming and ideally in sheet metal forming simulation

Secure knowledge of German and English in word and writing

Secure handling of MS-Office; Knowledge of AutoForm and Siemens NX are beneficial
