The area Mercedes-Benz Cars Procurement & Supplier Quality (MP) is responsible for an annual purchase volume in the double-digit billion range and the quality of all vehicles. In partnership with around 1,500 Suppliers in Germany and abroad will provide the necessary materials for the worldwide production plants of Mercedes Benz Cars/Vans. Locations in Germany, South Africa, China, India, Mexico and Argentina close to production. New challenges exist in particular in the areas of autonomous driving, connectivity and alternative drives. At MP/E, we are responsible for the purchase and supplier quality of all electrical/electronic and MB.OS components (Mercedes-Benz Operating System). We support innovative and international awards in the future fields such as autonomous driving, connectivity, comfort electronics and electrical on-board network, and ensure the quality in this complex and constantly changing environment. In addition, we centrally manage the contents of the strategic project MB.OS for MP. In this function, we also design the strategic orientation of MP. Electrical/electronics and software change the (automotive) world and form the central nervous system of our modern and innovative vehicles. From high-end sound to all displays and displays, such as hyperscreen or augmented reality head-up display, to all connectivity control units with the latest 5G standards, we are responsible for the most innovative components in MP. The focus of the vehicle as a mere means of transport has long been transformed into a learning multimedia system with artificial intelligence. In shopping for displays, sound and connectivity, we are working on the emotional interface of all new multimedia systems - actively managed this change with us!
