The Passive Security Division is responsible for the interpretation of passenger protection for all global legal, rating and Mercedes-Benz internal requirements. These challenges come to you: As a development engineer in the field of passive safety, you will address the issue of passenger protection and structural design of the Mercedes-Benz VANs at the entire vehicle level. You define, assess and optimize the overall safety system in the context of vehicle development to ensure the highest safety standards For this purpose, you evaluate the structural performance, occupant loads and restraint system effect in a variety of crash situations with different vehicle occupants (dummies) using total vehicle simulations and/or tests. By means of the simulation models and with the aid of test results (crash and sled tests), the definition of the necessary measures for achieving the target is carried out independently according to the method. References in consultation with the development partners The aim is to ensure the lowest possible occupant burdens to ensure global legal requirements, rating targets and internal requirements You take part in internal and external bodies, control communications and separate meetings and are responsible for the topics of passive security Within the scope of your task, you are responsible for the tuning of required test contents for basic, subsystem and total vehicle tests and bring your own expertise to the vote You control and coordinate external calculation and system design volumes for different vehicle projects or coordinate and perform functionally relevant coordination in the system team with internal specialist departments and system suppliers or external development partners by On the basis of the defined project dates, you plan the functional development steps and contents for your tasks.

Ideally qualify for this job:
