The landscape association Westfalen-Lippe (LWL) maintains various psychiatric facilities at the locations Dortmund and Hemer with several offices, which together form a regional network within the LWL-PsychiatrieVerbunds Westfalen. The hospitals of the LWL-Klinik Dortmund and the LWL-Klinik Hemer with the associated facilities LWL-Wohnverbund Dortmund-Hemer, LWL-Rehabilitationszentrum Ruhrgebiet and the nursing centre are part of this cooperation. The LWL-Klinik for Forensic Psychiatry Dortmund -Wilfried-Rasch-Klinik as part of a network of special devices for measuring standard in the LWL.

The facilities have a total of approx. 1,400 stationary and semi-stationary beds and squares with approximately 2.870 employees and are organised across a centrally managed service area, divided into five departments. The Department of Finance and Accounting consists of the teams of patient and resident management as well as financial accounting with one team management and with a total of 29 employees with activities at two hospital locations. Operational control is conducted in separate departmental responsibility.
